New daily driver/beater project

Well I picked up this beast yesterday. 300 bones. Runs and drives. Has some issues I got to fix but if all fails, would make a excellent parts car especially for the interior pieces which are nearly mint.

Something is wrong with the TPS, IACV, MAF, or Temp sensor. The car bogs when I tap on the gas sometimes, usually when it's cold. If it's idling at 800-700 and i tap on the gas real light, it bogs and usually stalls out. I have to press the throttle down more so it doesn't bog out at low RPM. But the problem goes away when the car is warmed up... well for the most part. I might just slap a CA18DET in there or something. I think the headgasket "may" be going. Because there is signs of moisture/water in the oil, but it may be bceuase the car sat outside for over a year and water probably collected inside the motor. I mean there are spider webs all over the distributor, lol. I'll change the oil and see if that does anything.

It smokes in the engine bay when it gets hot... The motor doesn't overheat. But it seems like the valve cover gasket leaks real good. And the injectors are leaking fuel out around the manifold. But the car came with fresh seals that weren't installed yet.

I'll run a compression check and see if I still have good compression. If so, I'll fix the KA up. If the compression has shit the bed, then it's going to be a motor swap. I could throw in another S14 KA and boost it, like my hatch but that wouldn't give me much variety lol. And it's a bit more work than I want to do again. I want a simple swap. So here's the question...

...man I should have saved the single cam, from my KA hatch when the S14 KA24DE went in. That single cam KA was in super good condition, pulled hard still and ran beautifully.

I was seriously looking at that maroon coupe a while back.

i wish i had fken room to keep a project car.. and an air compressor and an underground hoist.. *sigh* my neighbors are already edgy with how many cars are in the driveway lol

Nice pickup, real clean pignose coupe. For 300$ what a deal. My brother was looking to pick up a 240 for 800$ but it's a piece of complete garbage next to this. That thing needs to be lowered quick though looks like 4X4 time.
