    Default I want more power!

Like the thread title says, I want more power. I have an 86 Firebird that I have researched how to get more power out of my car, but just got basic maintaince such as putting different oil and my air filter. I am not on a huge budget, but anything helps.

    Thank you.

Either an engine swap or a different car.

Straight pipe exhaust, no cat. conveter, to create better airflow. Maybe an intake?

Is it a 2.8 V6? If so, PLEASE dont put a straight exhaust on it, they sound like ass as it is. If its a v6, get a LS1, slap it in, off you go. cheap, and effective.

Rofl, its like that motivational says " ls1 is like retard on viagra, they will stick it in everything"

First off is this a V6? if so the only way to get more power is to put a for sale sign on it and buy a new car.

Now if its a V8 just a shot of NO2 and see how you like the new power

If you straight pipe your exhaust chances are in BC you will get jacked by the RCMP and who needs that. Move to Alberta where we have next to no laws on the exhaust. As I have a hollowed out cat with a 3 inch pipe running right through it that shoots flames and then when I get pulled over the cop has to try to fit his oversized head under my car he has nothing to say but a couple threats and drive home safe.

    if it's V8 get NAWZ.......

    if it's a V6 sell it for a better car.... American's can't build nice fast V6 cars.

why is everyone saying go for NAWZZZZZZ if he has a v8?? thats only instant power for a minute, thats useless. the chev v8s are super restrictive, a huge power getter on them is headers and exhaust, youll notice a decent difference when you slap them on. then maybe get a bigger carb. if its the 305 you dont have many choices though other than that.

Ah ok. How much do you think these car are worth? I do want to go into the import cars, but I would need to sell this one.

My car already has after market exhuast and headers. The whole engine redone, the only thing the same is the engine block.

    naws is cheap cheap cheap....
it's an 86 firebird so Im going to guess he doesn't want to spend huge $$$ on it.

blower or turbo kit is going to be $5k by the time he is done. engine swap is going to be more than $700.00 nos kit.

since the only L98 5.7's of that year came in IROCs, it's mostly likely an LG4 5.0L...YAY 150HP... absolute piece of shit.

grab an LS1 or even and LT1 and drop it in. you can even find an L98 for cheap, that bumps you up to around 220... RELIABLY

thanks for the info. I just searched them up, looks like everything wont be cheap. Oh well, that is to be expected. A lot of TPI pieces, which I knew about before, but could not figure out what it was.
