    Default Opinions 2010 Mercedes GLK

So I went to Audi today to check out their new Q5...was very dissapointed..looked like an RDX with an audi front end...very dull......On my way home I stopped at Mercedes Benz and the new GLK really caught my eye. I think its a much nicer SUV then the Q5 and i think its going to be my next SUV

    Opinions?

Reminds me of the older generation Rav4. Something about it.

I'm in the market for the same thing, either the glk or the q5, might do a used ml or new body mdx though. Too bad about the q5, looked nice in pics but given its a tiguan i guess i expected as much. Did you drive em? How was the performance?

Are either being offered with discounts or just straight sticker price that you can find online?

It's not a Tiguan though....it's a modded/elongated version of the new A4 platform. Tiguan is going to form the base for Audi's new "baby" sized SUV.

Longcity: I fully agree that it looks like an old RAV4. That is the first car that popped into my mind as I scrolled through the pics.

Is it just me or does that rear door handle look totally out of place?

I'm a fan of both MBZ's and VAG cars but IMO the Audi takes it in the looks department. Looks much more sporty, streamlined, and clean whereas this MBZ kind of looks like a squished Jeep.

Have you checked out a Q7?

    That Benzo does look good.

Man, I never really noticed before, but I was driving behind a GLK 450 with nice rims and I couldn't take my eyes off it. Hot car. G Wagon is nicer IMO, but GLK is pretty sweet.

I hope the G is better for double the price or so.

I think they are a very unique looking ride, worlds better than any of the japaneese yawn-mobiles out there (with the exception of the Infiniti)I do prefer the Benz over the Audi, much more distinctive IMO. I have yet to see one in person, but the new Caddy srx looks great, smaller than the old version though. This is a red hot segment with soooo many competitors, its very tough to pick one, there realy is no "bad" choice here, just personal preference.

I prefer Q5's interior over's the new MB angular boxy designs.

And I'm surprise this doesn't look good in person:

GLK looks all kinds of weird to me. And most report said the trunk capacity is pointless.

I took a close look at the GLK in southcentre mall, looks good from the outside but the interior not only looks cheap, it feels cheap. I expected more, and would buy the Audi myself.

I think you just described every MB with a starting price under $100K. Their interior belongs to a Kia.

    Only Audi gets interior right.

It is a bargain .. $45K .. German SUV with powerful engine!

Well, it is quite cheap car .. dont expect interior as a $140K S class.

    Even a loaded 4 runner is $50K ....

Checked out the GLK. The pricing is really good on them but the interior is really small. All the CUVs in this class are like that though. It's really amazing how you don't get much more room over a normal sedan.

They had to cut corners somewhere with the vehicle to keep the price down, it's super small and a bit odd looking but looks are subjective. The compact SUV segment is an interesting one, the only thing is though once you start to load them up with options they get pricey and then you might as well buy something in the next segment up. It's a pretty cool little SUV to boot around town with.

Yup.. amazingly they keep churning them out as there is still demand. They are very strange vehicles but I really like them.

I think the GLK looks pretty good. I've never really been a fan of the Audi Q7 or Q5. They look weird. Like they shoved the front end from two different cars together.

I think the GLK looks like a tonka truck crashed into a land rover and they mb emblem on it. That first pic, the body line looks like ass, and the roof rack bars not body matched stick out too much. The interior isn't bad and the ass end isn't so bad but the Q7 is a lot nicer in all areas imo. In the end who cares who thinks what about it? If you like it buy it.
