    Default Project Cytheria/93 Civic SI

Well this will be my first documented build thread so bear with me here.

First a little background on my new project. For months i had been passing this thing to and from work with a "For Sale" sign on it. when i first saw it i thought holy shit the body is in great shape! So i stopped to have a look. sure enough not a square inch of rust and one one small dent in the driver side door. Shitty thing was the guy selling it wanted 9 GRAND for it! I was pretty bummed because this was around the time i was reading over euro_racers build thread on almost an identical car and i was quite influenced!

So a couple more months pass and the civic disappears. i figured some dipshit bought it haha. But to my luck when i was over for dinner at my grandparents place i saw it again down their street. Apparently the seller lived just around the corner from the grandparents. i meandered down to take another look and i noticed he lowered the price to $5000. well i made up my mind right then and there that id offer $4k and see what happened. To my utter surprise he took the offer and i was driving it home a couple hours later.

Here are some of the pics i took when i got her home. Ill take better ones when its daytime and clean.

    B16 w/ GSR tranny(approx 50k)
    AEM CAI
    Spoon ECU
    adjustable fuel pressure regulator
    DC sports headers
not sure of the brand of the exhaust but its full stainless steel from the headers
its got some coilovers but i cant remember the brand haha

It pulled great on the way home and handled awesome. this will make a great project car. My intentions for a Civic project would be to take out that dirty SOHC and drop in a B-series of some sort but thats already done for me haha. But i think for starters im going to change out the cams and get some forge pistons. I haven't decided if i want to add turbo or not but ill decide soon.

Any ideas, suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated! i will update soon.

the car looks great! If you are planning to drive the car during summer, I personally suggest the AEM V2 Intake (my setup) and remove the short ram you currently have if you are doing the cams and what not. A tower strut wouldn't hurt either =P

haha after months of wondering what the fuck you were talking about i finally got it.

Little update on the progress of the new Project Cytheria. Due to work i haven't been able to work on it as much as i wanted to but I've been tinkering around fixing little things that needed attention.

I also seem to be having electrical issues with the stereo and clock which is really pissing me off. Neither are working (they were when i first got it)so i popped it open and checked fuses, which were all fine. so i rip out the deck and pull out one of those things that you check if there's power or not(name is escaping me right now). Apparently my ignition wire has power, when turned over of course, but my battery wire does not.

i don't have much electrical experience but it's a fucking mess in there(pics will be up today) and chances are ill redo everything. I'm thinking that maybe my battery wire got caught on something and broke but i don't know. wouldn't that blow a fuse? anyone got any insight?

alright as you can see its a complete rats nest in there. As of now im not getting any power in my battery lead to my stereo and clock. and as far as i can tell there are no damaged wires deeper into the dash.

Anyways here are some daytime pics i promised but shes dirty as hell.

some rock chips on the hood.

i still haven't quite decided what I want to do with it yet so gimme so ideas guys! She goes in for rust-proving next week and after that i hope i will have an idea with what to do to it.

haha dont worry i plan to. as soon as i can find some decent condition stock ones they will be gone.

it's harder then fuck to find import parts where i live, all we have here is a canadian tire and a Lordco. I tried to order some new headlight housing and HIDs from Lordco and they tried to tell me they didn't make them! I was like

Therefore i have to get everything i need shipped here. Massive pain in the ass, let me tell you.

heres a update. i got laid off work a couple months ago so this project has been put on hold for awhile. Unfortunately for myself i had to move out of my house because i couldnt afford the rent and now im living in a trailer on my uncles property haha.

So now im building myself a garage out of 2x4's and a big tarp. Now im a hillbilly, literally. i got the wifebeater on, broken down cars in my yard and beer cans scattered everywhere haha. Pics will be up so, its a pretty sweet setup haha.

And now to business. I deceided what i want to do to her and with no rent to pay i can finally afford it. I was thinking about building a frankenstine engine, keeping the top of the B16A and mating it with a B20 or LS. im not really that knowledgeable on what the best setup would be but this isnt going to be a stock setup.

Does anyone have any experience doing one of these that could offer advice?

EDIT** oh and my intentions would be to run boost afterwards. not sure if that matters on a B20 block.

well after some hard thinking I have decieded to build myself a B20vtec. After researching the pros and cons i figured the pros outweighed the cons, especially if i build it right.

The numbers that a B20vtec can push out under boost is unfuckingreal and i really wanna do one now!

Im trying to find a local B20 block but that is proving to be hard. The junkyards here suck ass. But as soon as i do the fun will begin!

I have assembled a list of what ill need to properly build this frankenstine and i can tell all of you thinking about building one, that it sure as shit isnt cheap hahah.

I will keep this thread updated when i have the time but this is gonna be a long build.
