Solve the following equation in the real number system.
3x^3-x^2-15x+5=0
Basically I'm not even sure exactly what's being asked of me. Help please?

That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure, thanks.

Maybe not necessarily solve for x, but find the factors, that's for sure. Maybe synthetic division will be the easiest way to do that.
It was a fraction, i figured it out 1/3, thanks though guys. I was thinking syn div at first but then I remembered the rational root theorem.
Had to use a calculator to do 3(1/3)^3 - (1/3)^2, anyone know how to do this w/o a calculator?
you mean how to solve
without a calculator?3(1/3)^3 - (1/3)^2
Write it out and do it by hand!
