U of C is pretty crazy for this one. I once got non academic misconduct for putting posters up all over the school that had a cartoon penis on it. [Something like Vote for _______ Then a comical drwing with the inscription:
The Legend (pointing at his brain)
The Man (Pointint at his cartoon penis.)

And I got it for a semester. This guy just put up some non-offensive shit and gets fucked hard core. That prof must have some serious clout.

Maybe they could, who knows. But I know this much, if any university finds out about anyone lying to potential employers about what degree they possess, a university can revoke a degree if the person does hold one.

oh man, my brother was telling me about this...the student in question is in his poli sci group

he tells me the kid is weird but pretty smart...said he believes in young earth creationism and shit

the prof thing gets deeper than this too...prof is a dyke and her partner was on the committee/board that oversaw his hearing so now kid wants legal action over conflict of interest

take my post with a grain of salt, i'm not sure i remember all the details correctly

I don't understand enough of the details to judge/comment but superficially between this and the Prolife ordeal the U of C doesn't seem very tolerant of freedom of expression. I guess it's ok for profs to badmouth students but not the other way around.

Weingarten's hoped his legacy to the university was that students would feel like valued and cared for but I'm not feeling the love.
