What is everyone's favorite ETF for parking money long term these days? I'd like to shift some money into long term holdings and want to make the best choice based on current market conditions.
Based on order of % for my holdings I have my money in the following:
- VXC - large position, almost 40% of investments in this one but it's done well for us
- VGRO - steady gains, keep stacking this one as a good long term hold?
- VUS - we've had the largest gains with this ETF since time of purchase, up 55%. Will it keep climbing or take my money and run?
- XEI - smaller position decent gains so far
- XIT - smaller position, basically flat, should i dump it and shift to something else? (This fund did very well last year but I think I got in too late?)
- XQQ - smaller position, basically flat, should I dump it and shift to something else? (This fund did very well last year but I think I got in too late?)
Recommendations appreciated.
I like neat cars.
VGRO or even VEQT ( same thing but pure equity exposure) are pretty good bets with cheap fees. Has outperformed VGRO by 5% absolute since inception ( ~29% versus 24% ) in exchange for a bit more risk.

DFN has been my favorite for the past several years. They usually pay 10 cents per share per month dividends (~13%).
Except for pandemic it has been super stable.
Anyone that wants Visa. This is your pull back for a buy in.
Might go lower but might not.
TMO and NVS I like as long term holds.

With Cathie putting a $3000 target on TSLA by 2025 ($4000 bull case), and a $1500 target bear case, might be worth a long hold if we get into the high $400s, low $500s territory.
ARKX begins trading tomorrow.
This is my power move this year. Filling up my garage and waiting until August to sell.
Seriously though, I just bought 50, 5/4 boards, shit is over the twice the price of last year, same time.
I like when my laziness and cheapness aligns to ensure I don’t build a new fence this year.

The price of lumber is insane right now with building lumber being 2-3x the price it was a year ago. West Fraser Timber Co (WFG) has had a huge increase in the last 2 weeks and nearly doubled in the last year.

A pressure treated 6x6 10' is close to $70.
When are people getting their fences stolen in the night?
I think we all bought some AC stock for a forever term hold.
What are folks thinking about E3 Metals as a long-term investment?
I have been eyeing them up.
They seem to have a decent pull back and I'm hoping for a $1.50 entry.
You?
@mr2mike - I'm holding some E3, got in at $2.50, looking at averaging down. From what I've been able to learn about their tech, it's quite solid.
Yeah they've come crashing down fast. Then again so is everything tech related

I think it's favorable too. I think they ran up with some news articles and now trickled back.
One day they'll run and stay up. It's a young company.
