USA did not lower fed rate, and they expect maximum of one rate cut later in the year.

Plunking down some extra cash as a GIC at a bank might gain you some brownie points with that bank, if not so many dollars. Next year no doubt the banks will need extra cash to cover all the people who will bail on their mortgage renewals if they simply can't afford it. I can't remember a time when rates rose so drastically and now seem to be stubbornly flat.

Might be a quick way to raise credit rating if you please said banks.

Never forget: Mort Gage = Death Pledge.

I always liked the idea of fight it out Quatloos. USD is stale and decrepit, even as a military dollar.

The market increased this week, in part a response to economic optimism following the Trump assassination attempt, improving the chances for a Republican leader. My 2 cents.

    Berkshire - BRK.NE up 7% in the past week. +20% YTD. +25% 12 months.
    S&P - VSP.TO up 1%+ in the past week. +19% YTD. +24% 12 months.

Canadian tire has lost much of the gains since pre covid, down 24% in 12 months.

Something I'm watching but not invested in is NANC. It's an ETF for those with some conspiracy theory in them. "NANC seeks to broadly invest in stocks purchased or sold by Democratic members of the US Congress and their families".
NANC is +30% in 12 months. +55% since Mar 2023. Beating the above two investments by 5-10% in the same period. Totally a hail mary tho.

Everyone in Canada in the East thinks fossil fuels are done. But look at the list of tsx30 with the top companies driving the country and the majority are energy stocks.

Even I’ll admit that’s a pretty biased ranking. Most of those companies have pretty pathetic market caps and all this measurement represents is price appreciation in WTI coming out of COVID pricing.

So weird!! I haven't noticed the value of waterfront properties plummeting, either. Even though it's an irrefutable fact that they will all be underwater dangerously soon when the ocean rises by several irrefutable meters.

Its been in a range for a while now, bouncing between 21-29. Approaching the 200 MA on the weekly and has had higher volume lately. All signs it could be hitting a bottom and reversing soon. Potential to get closer to 20.42 before reversing. Probably not a bad pickup at these prices

Gold and silver on absolute tear compared to USD. Me though, nickels is the way.

10 year US bond gained 60 basis points since the rate cut. Its showing signs that the rate cut may have been a mistake.
