    Default TV Widescreen setup help

I'm wondering if anyone know what I can do with my problem.

I'm watching Kings right now and in the beginning they had words on the screen that said The Nation of Shiloh or whatever, it was a lot longer and it stretched across the screen.

Anyway, I noticed that the words are getting cut off on each side, so for example, if it said The Nation of Shiloh, it would say

    "he Nation of Shil"

I tried editing the settings for picture format, but it didn't work. I changed it from Auto Scan, 4:3, 16:9, and it still won't show all the words.

Anyone know what I need to do to make it work?

depending on the brand, it sounds like something to do with the way the TV fills the screen with the 4:3 image. With my Sony, there's a 'WIDE' button on the remote- if I choose the 'zoom' mode instead of the 'full' mode I get what you describe.

I can get the same thing from my BEV HD receiver if I choose the wrong SD mode too...

I can almost guarantee that you've got your TV in some sort of "Zoom" mode.
