I think it's BS how they are implementing these green light tickets, and the new red light ticket they are trying to implement.

I know maybe this is the wrong place to post (on a friggin' car forum) but I don't really care.

Freedom's and liberties are being taken from us and no one seems to give a fuck. All because everyone and their momma can make a good living here and no one seems to give a shit about a frugal ticket....

At any rate, it really pisses me off. Ontario was outraged by this a few years back. Calgarians seem to just let it slide and have a nonchalant attitude about this kind of stuff.

yeah you're right, it's awesome for the government to monitor just about everything you do. i mean, the camera's on every fucking intersection are enough, now they are charging us for speeding througgh green lights?

I have to agree that the cash grab of the local politicians seems to be getting out of hand but at the same time, I don't think it's anyone's "freedom or liberty" to break the law (exceed the speed limit). I know, I know a lot of times they are BS / petty tickets but technically it is still the law.

You guys are twisting my words. I rarely speed but sometimes yes I do go 10-15 over the limit - i am human just like the rest of us. you think for that rare occurence where i speed i should get a ticket for it?

that's all it is, and during this recession it may hit more folks harder then others, that's all i am getting at. isn't it funny how this wasn't implemented when business was booming??? know that it's slowing down it's time for calgary to capture all of those HORRIBLE HORRIBLE criminals who speed through green lights.

You have the right to your opinion but the red light ticket is not new. As for the speed on green they aren't trying to implement it, they are implementing it.

Driving is not a right or a freedom it is a priveledge. Can't pay the ticket? Dont speed or run reds.

Don't compare Ontario to Alberta. They allowed street racing rules which are very subjective and one can have a car taken from them just for modifying it. A camera is not subjective.
