    Default 1988-1991 RX-7s

    I been thinking about getting an RX-7 lately found a few near my area for sale at low prices. Anyone know if they good cars to work with, I plan to modify for show...

    They are one of those cars that you never see alot of, until you really start looking for them. I thought about buying one of these cars, but found getting it serviced was hard and the mazda dealers don't have a great reputation for good prices. You see lots of really beat up ones around Calgary, now and then you see a really nice one and they turn alot of heads.
    Yes its a Plymouth and its paid for.

    talk to RX-7 specialties, see if they can give you any tips etc on these cars.
    Drag racing is for fast cars. Solo 2 is for fast drivers.

    umm i think he is in cali
    so he cant just call up rx7 specialties
    anyhoo
    it is definatly one of my all time favorite cars
    but...has the downside of blowing motors if not taken care of properly
    check out the sig its a gen 2

    i found like a rx-7 1990 turbo around my area, supposidly a special edition or something with the special scoop in the hood...

    only 70k miles on it going for 4 thousand US dollars....manual upgraded turbo

    All T2's have the scoop in the hood
    but it sound like a pretty good deal

    thats the specs for the 3rd gen.
    which started in 1993, not 1990.

    Here's the specs for the 1990 tII:

    1.3L 2 rotor
    9.0:1 compression
    200hp@6500rpm
    196 lb-ft @3500 rpm
    3000lb curb weight
    0-60mph in 6.5
    1/4mile in 15.1
    top speed of 146mph


    It doens't take very many mods to get one of these to do a 14.0 either. Intake, exhuast and a couple more psi of boost would be more than enough. Need a fuel cut defenser if the boost is turned up though.

    If your looking to show it, there's quite few body kits for them too. You just have to look a little more for them.

    thx for the info! i wonder if selling my 5 series for something older and lesser is worth it though...
