Anybody work at an electronics store? looking ro a deal on a LN52A650

Anybody? i want to buy one of these, the best price i can find is visions for $2538 (they SAY you save $461, but the inflated their price by $400 to make it look like you're getting a deal, really it's only saving $61 over bestbuy)

We were recently deciding between the Samsung A650 or A750 LCDs or the 58" A550 plasma as well...

Looked around futureshop/visions/bestbuy for about a week...eventually got it (the 52" A750) for $2299 + $50 delivery from FutureShop!

Regular price (now) is $2699 at FS, was advertised for $2499 couple weeks ago (when we first spoke with the sale guy from FS)...so got another $200 off the sale price.

That price in-store usually includes "full install/setup" from the FS guys - didn't need that, and used it too knock off some more savings...

As a note - LOVE the new TV (just got it this past weekend), if you want the name of the FS sales guy, PM me.

Thanks for the offer, did you HAVE to take delvery? or can it be picked up?


did you notice if there is a difference between the 650 and 750? i looked at BB and FS's site and the only difference i can see is the model number so FS doens't have to honor any price matching.

The picture is identical, the 750's base does NOT swivel (650's does), and the USB port in the 750 also supports video playback rather than just music & pictures (if you have a PS3 or a receiver with a USB port you can do this anyways). You can also hook the 750 up for wireless networking (again, pointless if you have a PS3 or a receiver with an ethernet port). The bezels are different too, but thats subjective. Personally I wouldn't use any of that, so I'd buy what was cheaper. If its going on a wall the swivel base doesn't matter.

Thanks for the info, yeah i have a PS3 (and 360) and i am mounting it (on a floating stand not a wall, but it still makes the swivel useless)

No - delivery was optional, but the guy who does it was there when we bought it, and easier to transport in his truck for $50 and same day too.

the cost on that 750 is 2025, it actually went up from last quarter. so u can judge based on that

theyve started to discontinue everything, I dont work until teusday, aand i think thats the last day for the majority of the samsungs availablity because theyve discontinued everything. i order from the manufacturer not from whats in stock. so if they stop making it then not much you can do. I'll check and let you knoww

Was $850 boxing day, but delivery wasn't until mid January, and I wasn't willing to wait that long!

5 series Samsung is an excellent unit and one of your best bang-for-buck deals for any HDTVs. $850 would have been a killer price for that particular set IMO.
