Default Removing salt from floor mats

Anyone know how? My floor mats are caked with hardened salt and it's near impossible to get off now. Any tips?

Take them to a spray wash and shoot the hell out of them?

Warm water, soap, and a toilet brush or something similar. Then I put 303 on them, and its easier to get the dirt/salt off the next time.

EDIT: I assumed you had rubber mats because its winter. I re-read your post and it looks like you may have regular mats. Next winter, buy some rubber mats. Anyways, to clean your carpet mats get one of these:

I have one and it works awesome on carpet/upholstry.

Don't scrub them too hard or you'll ruin the carpet.

Warm water will do it, but you may have to soak them.
Once the salt is gone, you'll be left with dirt, so some kind of cleaner is a good second step.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Soak'em in the tub and use a brush to remove the caked in stuff. Car mats (good ones) are pretty durable and will almost look new again after a good wash if they aren't trampled to shit.

Rubber mats FTW. Carpet ones get stored in the trunk in the winter.
