I am getting my car's rear windows tinted soon. But not sure of the tint level. can you guys post pictures of your car and post the tint level as well?

    Thanks

I've got no pics but can tell you that I had a mustang, way back and had the back three windows tinted limo tint.
Pretty dark in the back and can't really see too much out the back at night.
I got my side windows tinted "dark", not as dark as limo but it was dark enough that you could only see silhouettes in the car.
It made the rear look even darker from the outside.

Looked good but got my fair share of tint tickets. I think they were $37 back then. Not sure what they are now. Probably x2 at least.

Limo in the back, dark on the sides. I'm not posting a pic, but my opinion is if you're going to tint do all the windows and take the risk or don't bother. I think it looks stupid to have rear windows tinted and none up front. Just my opinion. At the very least just add a light tint to the front so you can still be seen but the flow is better.

Tint tickets vary from $50 in turner valley, to $115 on highway 1. Ask me how I know.

get limo in the back and 35% up front. i think that is the best combination for visibility and looks. the limo in the back also helps the glare down when trucks are behind you

Agreed, I bought my car with 5% on the back three and nothing up front. Totally throws off the lines.

Having tint on my back window is the greatest thing in the world for that specific reason.

5% on the rear windows/side windows and 20% on the front looks sick

    40% Front
    15% Rear Windows

Can't see anything looking in the back windows, cops leave you alone and I can see out perfect day or night.

Some light reflection behind the building, and shitty pictures but might help you out.

I had 5% / 20-30% fronts in the last car... thats the best combo. It may be hard to see cars behind you at night if they don't have their lights on.

Whatever you do don't do 5% all around like i have now...I can't see shi*t (not my choice, car came like that) and cops watch for that too.

Anybody ever do 50% on the fronts?

I like the way 40% looks but I really dont relish a run-in with the police. Leaving it un-tinted is the only sure way to avoid that, I guess.

Is it even worth the trouble or expense to do a 50% tint?

^ the cops shouldnt give you trouble over 40%. i was with my buddy and he as 5% all around, drove right by a pig and nothing happened. i find 50 too light, almost like having nothing.

if its a coupe do limo on the back and 35-40 on the front sides. if sedan do 15 on the back and again 35-40 up front

Most of the time they wont pull you over for tinted windows, unless they pull you over for speeding etc and want to give you an extra ticket for being a dick. I have been driving with tinted windows for 4-5 years now and not 1 ticket for tinted windows

I had dark tint all around on my Audi, and drove it around for two years without incident. As G-ZUS said - if they want to punish you for being a dick, it's an easy ticket to write.

Up to what percent is legal? Or is having any tint at all illegal?

I got 35% all around, looks great. I'll post a picture when I get to another computer. And I've gotten pulled over for speeding 3 or 4 times last year, they never mentioned the tint at all. They don't bother me in around Calgary neither, had it for 3 years now.
