RD Sport ECU Upgrade BMW E92 335Ci 07+ RDSport is delivering a plug-and-play performance for the new twin-turbo N54 motor that equips the 335i, 335Ci, and the soon to be released 535i. The Black Box is a self-contained ECU that works as a piggyback to the Siemens MS V80 DME control unit. The plug-and-play harness allow you to install the Black Box in a matter of minutes, and the unit itself slides into the open slot next to the Siemens DME. By controlling a variety of parameters such as boost pressure and timing advance, the current version of the Black Box delivers an additional 65 HP and 80 ft-lb of torque (based on 91 Octane fuel), bringing the performance of the current 335i Coupe in the range of the current V10-powered M5 and far beyond the outgoing E46 M3. The installation of the Black Box is completely reversible, so the unit and harness can be removed just as easily as it was installed.

I would assume the ~400lb weight difference is factored into that.
