Our Squadron is called the Nighthawks, and NHOTM stands for NightHawk of the month. The Pilots with their callsigns are painted on the otherside.

I didn't know that there would be a fly past for the parade tomorrow.

Yep should be his tution. Man Nismo - if you paid 10,000 that's nothing compared to the 15,000 I paid for the same course you did haha! The aircraft look much more used now since you were there .

I wonder how effective it really is to paint the cockpit on the bottom of the CF18.

It supposedly is there to disorient opposing fighters - however it seems similar to a gun pointed at you that is sideways vs. right side up. Maybe it's supposed to be gangsta?

Edit: nm I just realized that fighters are more effective in 'look down / shoot down'. It tries to trick the opposing fighter to move in to a shooting position for the CF18 in a dogfight.

Look down shoot down is harder but that has nothing to do with it.

They paint that so that if they do a head on pass the enemy thinks the bottom is the top. Mostly used in dogfight competitions.

Most pilots are trained to turn into an opponent to make the fight a one circle fight. The Canadians often make the fight a two circle fight because the enemy is expecting the CF-18 to appear about a 1/4 way through the lead turn. In fact they have turned the other way. When the enemy is gawking through the top of the cockpit trying to find the CF-18 the CF-18 is gaining angles.
    _Lose sight lose the fight.

Haha, those CF18's were shaking our hangars all day today. AMAZING how they can do that.
