RIP.
You are an idiot though.

Sorry this time you are thinking ahead of me.Originally posted by Toma

How does a a paranoid psycho who holed up with food and arms and lay wait for police so he could shoot them have anything to do with a police state?
I would think that a true police state would have just nerve gassed the SOB, and that would have been the end of it. In a true police state I would think this would have not made the news.
Made me think...
Guys like Alex Jones.... Is he a prophet for predicting Gun Violence escalation like the news is portraying... cops now, 13 dead a few days ago, 8 dead in NC a few days before that, 10 dead in Alabama a few days before that, 8 in New Orleans a few days before that, riots in Oakland .... etc etc...
Or is he the cause.... with "fear mongering"?
When I see stories like this it makes me wonder what really happened. The police are the only witnesses to survive the incident and it's not uncommon for them to change facts to protect themselves, just like the military does.
Don't need to be a profit to see that things like that are going to happen in a country where guns probably outnumber people. There are some real nuts out there.Originally posted by Toma

It could be a trigger though, there was an episode of 'Numbers' not long ago that has parallels to the media fear mongering escalating copycat gun violence theory.
^ I know that makes no sense but it is too late for me to bother trying to make a better sentence.
Not much of a prophecy. Anybody that thinks about it for a few minutes would be able to guess that with an increasing number of desperately poor people, violence will increase as well.Originally posted by Toma

And while Alex Jones and his ilk are not THE cause, they sure don't help matters. Basically they reinforce some serious flaws in people, but these flaws already existed.
this is small time whackjobbery. I'm waiting for LA Riots part Deux. Then we'll all be fucked

i really hope there's something to 2012 so we can all be put out of our missery. In a move that even the most nonchalant of privacy advocates is crying foul over, the UK has put into effect a European Union directive which mandates the archival of information regarding virtually all internet traffic for the next 12 months. The program formally goes into effect today.
The data retention rules require the archival of all email traffic (the identities of the sender and receiver, but not the contents of the messages), records of VOIP telephone calls (traditional phone calls are already monitored), and information about every website visited by any computer user in the country. The rules are being pushed down "across the board to even the smallest company," as every ISP large or small will be required to collect and store the data. That data will then be accessible -- to fight "crime and terrorism," of course -- by "hundreds of public bodies" to investigate whatever crimes they see fit.
I think this is the first time I have used and truely meant this ...Originally posted by Subwoofah
