Is anyone looking to make an order with Fendrihan anytime soon?

I wanted to get a couple of things, but not enough to qualify for the free shipping (You have to order $65 worth of stuff)

    Yes, I know I'm a cheap bastard.

If anyone wants to combine items, we can save a few bucks on the shipping costs.

    Let me know
    James

I just wanted to get 1, maybe 2 tubs of JM Frasers cream, which brings to me $30 in total.

I'm sure there must be something you need (or want) on there

If they carried the Med Prep Personnas for a good price I would. But alas they don't.

That reminds me, I need some more cream. I'm partial to the Nivea stuff myself, and my local shoppers carries it, so I'll go there.
The nivea after shave balm is good too. Always cracks me up because it says it has "natural micro-tec" in it. WTF is that?

    Soap PIF

Anyone interested in giving L'Occitane Cade soap a try? I have a puck, used about 4 times, lather and shave are good, but my face reacts to it so off it goes.

    FREE! Meet up dt

EDIT: might as well get rid of some other things I've got sitting in the shave drawer. I've also got a new puck of Williams and VDH as well.

Coles: PIF Cade, Williams, VDH, but not to the same person

Also have a new bowl of Tabac. Great product, but I should have picked up a refill instead of a second ceramic. Need to make room for other soaps. $20

I'd give the L'Occitane and others a whirl. What's the best way to connect with you?
I'd vote for him. America may have a black guy, but we'd have captain fucking Kirk.

sorry, I should have specified. 1 per person. I'd rather PIF to 3 different people.

send me a pm. I work dt, regular hours.

Recently purchased some Taylor jermyn street shave cream, was wondering if everyone on here still uses a safety razor to shave. I still do due to the slight razor burn I get from dispoasbles.

Just a shamless plug here since I am selling off a few pieces from my collection. They have never seen use by myself since the purchase and have been cleaned thoroughly, all ready for use.

    Noob question for you guys:

Is there a significant cost savings (over time) with shaving the old school way vs. modern disposables?

I hate how expensive cartridges are, and I'm even using cheapo Exact brand razor. It's still like $8 for 4 blades though.

Thinking of switching over, but not if it ends up costing more.

It's 20 cents per blade for the "old school" stuff. One blade lasts for a week, and I have a thick, coarse beard.

Definitely savings over time, plus it's not a chore anymore. I look forward to my DE shaving. It's a ritual now.

The initial outlay can be quite expensive depending on what quality gear you want. After you have your brush an razor it can be quite cheap. I'd recommend getting a starter pack of blades at the beginning to get an idea of which blades you like. Most of the blades work out to about 20 cents each. I really like the feather's which are 40 cents each, but I only shave 2 - 3 times a week so a blade can last 2-3 weeks - 4 if I push it. It cost me $40 for 100 blades that will last me a few years.
The only thing you may find happening is that you start to buy more creams/soaps trying out different brands and scents. That can get pricey if you let it.

How do you guys dispose of your used razor blades?

Wrap them with tape and throw them into the garbage or do you keep a separate sharps container?

My wife uses a makeup remover that comes in a little tin with a screw top lid. I just cut a slot in the top. I figure it will last me a few years before I need a new one.

I find the old school gear is cheaper in the long run. Especially with the blade changes.

No more Gillette shit for me!

This. I ordered a 100pack of feathers on ebay for $30 ish. I'm not gonna have to buy razors for like 3 years now. That's about how much you pay for what, 5 gilletes?
