    Default riced's 2006 FG1 Journey

So, this seems to be the big thing now... I'd like to put my car in the garage too! It's been a longgggg time.

So, in 2006.. I got rid of my 1990 Corolla and picked up the new 2006 Civic. Took 30 days to take delivery and here are pics the day I took it home.. completely stock with hub caps and all.

At the time, I was indeed a ricer. I had a Momo knob and a momo shift boot.. It didn't match and I can't remember why I even got it. I got rid of it eventually

Not too long after, I ordered an Injen intake from speedtech to get the engine purring a little louder

Quickly after that I purchase the OEM HFP Factory front lip to make it a little more aggressive..

Well.. the car isn't complete unless it's rounded off with a full kit.. so I got the rear lip and some mugen-replica sideskirts. They are replica because they are made only for the sedans and I had to get them fitted for the coupe.

After that.. I needed to get lose the hubcaps cause it was totally hurtin' the image. I ordered some Function/Form Type II coilovers. My wheels would be 17x7 +45 with 215/45/17 Kumho Ecsta SPT's. I knew little to nothing about width, offset or tire sizes.. thus the sunken (very sunken) look.

I also tinted the reverse parts with VHT nightshades to help darken the look of the car.

After this.. I started running out of ideas.. but I still craved for more. I decided to go into I.C.E. for a little boom and get a 10" JL10W1 with a JL e-2150 2-channel amplifier with a custom box made by wrxer1.

Not too long after that.. I started to get out of my ricer mindset and get rid of all the things that I thought didn't really compliment the car.. soo, I got rid of the MOMO knob and boot and replaced it with the TWM M1 Abrams shift knob and a JDM FD2-R shift boot. I thought while I was at it, I'd get a short shifter adapter as well. I got rid of the ricey blue bulbs and replaced them with Nokyo 3000k DRL's.

After I got all the little details out of the way, I went back into business. I went to speedtech and from then until now, I have been spending all my money there... haha
So I got a VIS CF trunk and my girlfriend was oh-so kind enough to get me the Greddy Ti-C full catback system for my birthday. Those both went on.

So, after entering DTP last year with Beyond.. I felt that my interior was lacking a little. I needed to spruce it up. So, back to speedtech I went. Will helped me out and got me some DC2-R Recaro SRD's. I ordered some Wedge Engineering custom brackets which took 4 weeks.

    Before:

    After:

Last year, I also sold the WORK's and wanted to go 17x9. It was mid summer and I was hoping Will would be able to get me a set of Gram Lights 57Max in 17x9. Unfortunately, there was no stock and 17x8 was the only one left. I could either run winter tires until 17x9's were in or just get the 17x8's. I made a quick decision and just went for it.

Gram Lights 57 Maximum in shining silver 17x8 +43

Well.. I wasn't completely happy with the wheels so I only had them for about 2-3 months before I let them go again.

The 08-09 winter was coming up and it was time to up my game once more. It's a daily driver.. so it takes a daily beating but it takes it well

So, there were big plans for '09 and it all started with the new wheel/tire set up. First, I needed to change out my suspension back to stock struts and Eibach sportlines to accommodate the wider more aggressive setup. If I were to have stayed with the coilover setup, I would have rubbed it hard. I also purchased two sets of camber bolts to get the fronts to -2.0.

The good guy that Will is, got me a sick sick sick set of one of my most favourite wheels. It took going through two sets to get to the good stuff. I also got a license plate frame to back up the wheels

While I do like keeping secrets, I also love revealing them..

To go along with that, I got some new T1R purple lugnuts.

Today, I went to the great guy we know as Bob at Urban Expressions and ordered my tires.
Here's what the big deal for 09 was.. My VOLK set up is a staggered set up and I will be doing the big and wide up front.
    17x8.5 +40
    17x7.5 +30

The tires going on them are Toyo T1R's in
    245/40/17
    225/45/17

Thanks to Jason (4doorj), I test fitted his rear S2k wheels and fit 17x9 245/40 no problem and with lots of extra room without rolling or pulling. I am positive I can fit 255/40 and 235/45 next season.

FINALLY, I have two more orders over at speedtech which start with J. Hopefully they'll be here soon so I can finally complete the ride... maybe.

Thanks speedtech for getting all the parts I need, and everyone that has contributed to getting my car to where it is now with all the support! Haters keep hating!

    Are you sure about that.

With wider fronts, you should have more grip and therefore less understeer.

STi guys do this all the time to get rid of the understeer the car has.
