hmmm, if there is no light on the adapter, it may be a faulty. The computer should be able to boot up now at least, 1hr is plenty of time. What you can do is take both the laptop and the adapter to the computer store, have both the adapter tested as well as see if your computer charges & boots up as it should once its plugged into to a different adapter (abeit one that works).
Or if you know how to use a digital Multimeter (an electronic tool used for measuring voltage, or ohmage/resistance) then you can use that to measure the output voltage of the terminal that would connect TO your laptop. if there is any voltage there I mean.
