Default Looking at a LCD tv that is supposedly never been used. how can if it has been used

I am going to look at a Samsung LCD tv that this person has had for 4 months and they say it is never been used. Seems wierd to have a tv for 4 months and never use it, but who knows. Is there a way to tell if it has been used? I know my Rear projection TV had a setting saying how many hours were left or something like that.

Any idea? They say they have the receipt and it is new, but I want to be sure.

Look up how to access the service menu. There should be a usage timer in there somewhere.

TV's usually also come without the channels programmed in. If you turn it on and you don't get a menu walking you through the setup process, chances are its been used.

Maybe it is still in a sealed box? But yeah, do what Kenny suggested.

Hopefully it is still sealed. I can't find anything in the manual for a setting, but it looks like Kenny said that the initial turn on should bring up a menu. If I am unsure I will see if I can turn it on and check it out. Seen a lot of scams lately on here, and dont want to be one of them.

    Thanks guys

Most TV boxes (larger screens) aren't "sealed" They have replaceable plastic tabs that you can reclose. If they package it back up carefully you wouldn't be able to tell its been opened before.

Yea look in the service menu. Most tvs should have a power on hour timer. The people on avsforums.com might be more knowledgeable on how to access the service menu for your particular tv, or just search google.
