Thumbs up Would you trade a DC2 ITR for a DC5 ITR?

    Hey guys,

This post is not to start a flame war, but to simply find out from enthusiasts out there if you would trade in a DC2 ITR for the DC5 ITR.
Reason I ask is I have the opportunity to purchase a REAL JDM DC5 ITR (Yes it is right hand drive).
It has all of the stock components (brembo's, Recaro's, k20-R, etc) so my need to do anything to it would be minimal (unlike what I have already done to my DC2 ITR)

Do you think it is worth it in your minds eye if you were in my position?

    My mods include:
    Apex'i Dunk Cat back exhaust
    Mugen Pedal kit
    Ingen CAI
    KG/MM lowering springs
    UKDM Taillights
    NGK Power Cables
    Full Stereo
    JDM Front End
    Autometer Guages
    Gauge Bezel
    Recaro SRD racing seats
    Autometer Shift Light
    Hytech 4-1 Header
    Skunk2 OBD II - I Harness
    Chipped P28 ECU

That's a really hard choice dude IMO. I don't really like the overweight look of the DC5 nearly as much as I like the look of the DC2 w/ the JDM headlights. But you would have a newer car and having RHD genuine JDM ITR would be quite a novelty. Have you driven the DC5? or even an RSX for that matter? Maybe that would help you decide more. But i don't know, that would be a very tough decision for me as well.
We should all be so unlucky

question is will you be able to insure it over here?

if you are i would trade..but then again i like the rsx more than the integra..not to mention you'll probably get more attention since its RHD and all for them JDM lovers

DC5-r beats the crap out of the DC2-r in every possible way...track, straight line...just newer technology. The engine itself has way more potential regardless of the brakes, 6 speed tranny, and all the other cool toys the DC5-r comes with.

BTW, I would hate you if you got it.

What I need to do is weight the pros vs. cons.
Granted the DC5 is newer technology, but the DC2 is a classic.
I have poured my heart and soul into that car and just want to make sure I am getting something of equivalence.
I've never driven a DC5 so I have no comparison.

I have a feeling I'm going to miss that 5700 rpm kick!

    for surez

    RHD dc5 would make you

Your teg is nice.....but having the only RHD dc5 in Calgary (possibly in Canada??) would make your car one of a kind

I do however like the looks of a dc2 with a jdm conversion better than the dc5-r

Before you go through with it, you might want to check up on how to register and insure the DC-5. I'm guessing that the VIN's are probably switched, but you have to wonder what would happen if you ever got into an accident.......

    DOOOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIT!!!

That would be the worst trade to pass up. I don't know you or your car personally, but, you seem to have done alot to your ride, but holy shit man. RHD dc5?. How could you pass that up. Maybe it won't have the same feel as you car now, but, it wouldn't take much to make it MORE than it already is... And if there aren't any problems insuring and getting it here... F*ck.. Do it man. I wish I had that choice...

Hey those wheels are pimp! They look very familiar. Those are the Wetsport Wheels that's where my CP-10's oririnated from. Hey Nate it would be pimp if you had a RHD DC-5R, but when I beat you on the track don't be mad. HEHEHEHE. J/K I really don't know what i would do if i was in your position. Just give me a call and we will discuss this matter.

Damn your right. In that full exterior shot, the interior is black.

But if it is the real thing, then I woudl personally go for it, as long as you can register and insure it here.
