Default Help with choosing a TV set:

I got some good feedback last time I posted in here with respect to my latest computer purchase. So, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask for the next purchase. I'm looking to purchase a 52"+ TV and another blue ray setup.

    TV 1: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN

    TV2: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0099954&catid=

    TV3: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0109575&catid=

    Blue Ray Player: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...gon=&langid=EN

What would you choose, and why?

If I had to, I guess the Panasonic...not much selection to choose from, 2 Samsungs and 1 Pana.....why have you narrowed your choice to these 3?

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

I bought the 58" pana 850 in January and love the tv.
$3999 for an 800 is ridiculous though, and not in a good way lol

No question about it go with the plasma if there aren't going to be any bright lights on the TV or a huge window beside it. IMO the only advantages to LCDs are that they don't use glass, and they are usually cheaper. In fact, a projector would be far and away the best choice if you can control the light and if this is more of a home theater application rather than general viewing.

For a blu-ray player, I'd suggest the PS3 - you can play games, it does all the latest decoding internally, and its basically a media PC as well. There is no need to spend $500 on a dedicated blu-ray player.

Make sure your receiver can at least handle HDMI repeating, or you won't be getting more than 2 channels of losless audio off of the blu-rays.

The TV will be placed beside two large windows and two double sliding glass padio doors. I think we will have wood blinds which should help with controlling about 90% of the light. Think that would be ok?

As for the plasmas, between the Samsung and Panasonic, which one would you suggest? Considering that I can go to the top of the budget, but would prefer not to.

As for the Blue-Ray player, not gonna lie, I picked that one for presentation purposes and prefer it to a bulky PS3. I don't have an HDMI compliant receiver but will be purchasing one when I get there as well.

    Thanks for the suggestions though.
