Call around - some of the little guys will rent out a car to you for extra $$, something like 25-30/day in insurance haha

When I was hit and my car was totalled I looked around and couldnt find ANYONE who would rent to a 18yr old.

When my buddy got in a car accident in Edmonton last year, we didn't have a way home because no places would rent to anyone under 21.

Sometimes your own insurance can cover you on a rental car - ask around. When I needed a rental car from one of my accidents when I was 18 my insurance company covered the insurance for the rental car as part of my policy

My company wouldnt touch me for a rental car either and I had been with them with a clean record for 2 years and not in fault of the accident.

I wasn't allowed a rental from a rental company, but my insurance company said there was an extra 'policy' (?) that I could sign up for that would allow me to drive rentals, but with my insurance covering the whole thing. However it was a couple hundred bucks a year.
