so did I actually pay you for my bike insurance or is that a fake pink card.
LOL
What are you looking for? Like a toy summer car? Honestly a nice older mustang would be sweet, new camero or challenger if you wanna spend that much. I cant think of 1 decent RWD japanese car that would suit you (to all you haters I mean suit Masked Bandit).
So my options list would be
-Magnum/300C SRT8 (problem with this is the current state of Chrysler)
- G35/G37 (but again you may look a little funny in it.)
- 350Z/370Z
- Mustang
- New Camero
- New Challenger
I'm going to be done with the truck this fall or next spring so the logical thing is to get back into a car assuming gas prices go back up. I hate FWD, it feels like something my wife should be driving. I know how to drive thank you very much. And a V8 in a sedan will usually get better fuel consumption than a truck / SUV. I also still have to transport two kids for the next decade or so. I like to plan a long ways in advance so I'm just trying to think of what I might need to start looking at.
I'm not a big fan of german simply due to the purchase price and maintenance costs. It's almost as bad with anything the Japanese build (in V8 RWD) as well so that leaves me with domestic. G8, CTS-V and maybe a 300 or Charger are all that's left really and I'm really not a big fan of Chrysler. Pontiac is going to disolve and the CTS-V has reliability issues (I believe). So what the phuck am I going to buy?
Ah phuck David Suzuki & Al Gore, bring on the Suburban!

Yeah I understand the sedan thing. I know this isn't RWD but what about a subbie? They have some nice AWD turbo power that would still be fun to drive.
I honestly dont think I could pick a reliable, cheaper, RWD car that is currently around. Kinda sad actually.

Cheaper by $4k, but you hardly get anything with it, and the interior quality is shite. As a value proposition, the IS-F is downright awful. The C63 AMG is cheaper still, and it's a better looking car, and comes with more equipment as standard than the IS-F.Originally posted by 911fever

I don't see the C63 AMG as cheaper than a 50ish thousand IS-F.. in fact I think the C63 AMG has the best resale of the M3, IS-F, and RS4. Its a good deal, the IS-F anyways for the low 50's.Originally posted by TorqueDog

Only reason I ask is because none of those cars start in the low $50k region... so I suppose if you DID find a brand new IS-F for the low $50's, buy it, because someone's about to lose $10k.
The IS-F starts at $65,300, while the C63 starts at $63,500. The M3 does command a premium at $69,900 to start... but that said, if one was in the market for one of those cars, why would you buy second best?

I learned very young, those who "show money" often do not have money. Credit, yes, MONEY, no.

I don't think any of these car holds there value very well. As soon as it's out of warranty, they worth less than half of original price.Originally posted by 911fever

Which in the end, isn't really any different from almost any vehicle. My truck was well over $50,000 new, three years later the lease-backs were going for mid to high 20's.Originally posted by Xtrema

This one is $22,995.00 but there are ones for $20K that pop up from time to time. I was trying to find a ChargerSRT8 and the 300's were always a few grand cheaper.Originally posted by jonnycat
More like $28K and north from there.
300C's with the 5.7 though are around $10k-$20K

Now there's an interesting suggestion. Are those things even made new? I've seen the odd one around but I'm guessing that would be a US import only.Originally posted by bspot

The only reliability issues with the CTS-V come about from doing clutch dumps and breaking the rear differential. The car wasn't made to drag race, it does fine on a road course. If you buy one don't plan on doing smoky burnouts and you will be fine. I even get good gas mileage with mine. Some people even put winter tires on them and drive in the winter-not me though.
