^^cool. Can you explain something? I noticed in a few of your recent pictures that you describe the pictures as "hand held". The pictures are in bright daylight so maybe I'm missing something here on the hand holding thing.

Well all my panos are shot vertically, so you have to have a steady hand and a good eye to make sure you take each photo nice and straight. A lot of people will use a tripod to ensure this, even with daytime shots. I'm just clarifying that I didn't use a tripod. Thats all.

I see what you mean now. I thought you meant it had something to do with the exposure settings. I'm thinking "It's bright daylight, shutter speed 1/320th - of course you can hand hold it."

I don't know how you don't get crazy looks when you take pictures on the bus/train.

I get the staredowns the moment I pull out my cameras... Then again, the shutter sounds like a slamming door so I guess it's not AS discrete.

Not even 6 months old and he's already blowing his money on photography gear. He truly is a photographer's child

A few from RMR on the weekend. Rest can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/theshin...7619124819052/

Comments? I'm pleased with a few, but the majority aren't great. I should have used a faster shutter speed I think, to alleviate a bit of unsteady panning, but I do like the motion blur associated with the 1/160 or 1/200. I tried slower, but only portions of the car were sharp due to the panning at fast speed.

Well he is my first dable into photography and it was a success. Chosen as the National Geographic Daily Dozen National Geographic shot: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/your-shot/daily-dozen "June - Week 1" . Scroll through to until you see this shot.

Shot 2 weeks ago...about the same time I figured out how to use my camera.

    Thanks everyone.

Those pics are amazing and I'm sure lots of people here would have a great chance to get their shot up on the daily dozen.

If only they paid royalties for everyone who viewed it...
