Need Help: Bass Cutting Out

Hi

I bought a JBL GTO 3501 amp and want to run a 10" Phoenix Gold enclosed sub from it.

The bass cuts out entirely for a minute or two and then comes back on when driving.

Is this due to:

The way the amp is mounted
Type of cables
Wrong type of amp?
Not enough power?

i had this problem with a set up once, it was because the bass on the amp was turned up to high and the sub was taking to much of a power draw then the amp could aupply so it went into safemode.. so maybe try to upgrade the power supply or cheak out your grounds and make sure they are all tight and big enough cable...

Also, the phoenix gold line has a fatal flaw in the sub, sometimes the leads pull off the coil.. it can be repaired with solder if it isnt bad.

^^Yes, try upgrading power cable, or turn the bass settings down. you could also adjust the crossover, having a larger range pulls a lot more power.
