xbox 360 not turning on

so ive had my 360 since xmas 07. ive played it a MAX of 100 hours, maybe less. last night i turned it on, changed the disc out and accidentally turned it off instead of pressing the eject button. which ive down a few times when im not paying attention, no big deal, but when i went to turn it back on, nothing.

i tried all normal troubleshooting but nothing out of the ordinary. anyone had this or know how to fix it?

are you getting the red rings lighting up around the power button?

haha ya, i did some standard troubleshooting, thanks! took everything from the plug in ports and off the powerbar and tried it a few times, but no worky.

does the power supply have a light on or no

its orange...as far as the power supply, thats what i figured it might be but i barely fuckin use the thing. how much would a new power supply be?

i think the light on the supply box is supposed to be green anything else means its fucked time for a new xbox

i htink its only supposed to be green when its turned on isnt it? i read that its orange if its turned off....

^ when the x box is off the light is orange when its on it should be green if its red then u need a new one

ya thats what i thought, so im not really sure what it is. i do have another power supply i just remembered so ill try that....

just make sure its the same power supply there is two different ones one with a metal tip and the other with a plastic tip they are different voltage some just make sure you dont fuck up the actual xbox

tried it, something is fried on the xbox cause nothings working. i emailed xbox and i got an automated response telling me to troubleshoot everything i already have so i asked them about getting a replacement at no cost, but im pretty sure ill get nothing. we'll see.

There is like 3 different version of the power supplies for the 360, none of them would plugin incorrectly since they are keyed differently, exactly for the reason of not flying your xbox.

Sounds like something is messed. Dry to remove the faceplate from your xbox and try to press the button behind the power button, perhaps the plastic has worn out or isn't lining up with the actual power button in the back?
