Does anyone know about the corolla SR5 wagons from the early 90s/late 80s? I know they had the weak 100 hp 4A-FE, I think the code is AE95. Any engine swaps for this car? It would make a fun rally car or winter beater project.

if it has the 4afe it would fit a 4age 20v but I don't think it would be worth it
Doesn't the 20V require at least 98 octane or something?
In any case, this car would need something with a lot more lower end and torque, like a 3sgte

The chassis code for the AWD wagons is AE92. I would personally just drop in a stock 4age, or a 4agze, if the stock motor can move it around, 30-60 more horse should help out. My friend has one of the AWD wagons and they are a very nice car, the first time i rode in it was in a snow storm in the winter, it handled the snow very well with the AWD. He also owns a AE92 sr5 2 door and he put them side by side and compared the ride height, believe it or not the wagon has a lower ride height.
