Both teams give 0 fucks about professional decorum and etiquette. So there's going to be lots of bat flips and bench clearings. Ventura has mega small-man syndrome and hates it any time a batter gets a piece of his pitches (least of all when they're comebackers), and Volquez is a little studio gangster who, for unknown reasons, dislikes Bautista. A lot.
It's going to be a WILD series. The regular season was nuts between these two teams... I can't wait.

Volquez loves to pitch inside, and since he already dislikes Bautista there is a pretty good chance of the benches if he, or anybody gets beaned high and inside.

Nice! I would do this if it wasn't 1k for a round trip flight.

Volquez beaks at everybody. He beaked at Trout earlier this year, and Volquez is like the size of Trout's forearm.

Volquez has been fire all night until right now. Has had awesome stuff, hopefully the Jays can capitalize!

That was some of the sickest pitching I have seen all year. Bar full of Jays fans completely silenced last night.

Blue jays were out pitched. Our pitching was below average for the majority of the game and couldn't capitalize on their mistakes when we had the chance. Oh well, game 2!

The moment for me was the full count, two on, two outs and Tulo stood there and knew that pitch got him lol

Yup David price. His season And the Jays on the line. Must split. Don't think they can beat KC 4/5 going down 0-2.

Price pitching more like himself so far this game. Hopefully the jays can get the bat working.

I agree with you Max, froze him.

Oy. I guess it'll have to be a home team series for the next few.

Nothing says blowout like sending a position player to pitch. This was the sort of victory they needed yesterday, allowing KC to almost come all the way back only gave them more confidence.

I don't htink it's a confidence thing so much as a bullpen thing. Even with a big lead like that, Toronto had to go through 5 pitchers (albeit 2 short outings from Lowe and Sanchez) to KC's 3 in the first game of a 3-game series (3 consecutive days, I mean). The best thing Toronto could have done for themselves was force Medlen out too by shelling him. Unfortunately, Medlen pitched 4 (I think) really good innings that allowed KC to save their bullpen for yesterday and today.

Factor in that Loup was again unavailable for the game due to a family matter, the Jays' already thin bullpen is even thinner without any left-handed relievers.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Price do some middle relief today, though it really hurts them if they get to a game 6 in KC. If it were me, I might've considered playing Price last night if there was a 1-run difference for either side going into the 5th. Pitch him in middle relief on 3 days rest, and maybe start him in game 6 on 3 days rest again.

I went yesterday and had amazing seats for that utter, utter trainwreck.

Best case scenario today is Jays force KC to dig into their pen early and often, and Estrada pitches a good 7-8 innings for a win.

I was thinking the same thing, if the jays can get ahead early, save price for a game 6.

They had me worried when he was stretching out in the 5th in the bullpen.
