Does this show make any sense to anyone? I occassionally stumble across this show while flipping channels. I don't really get how the people being chased think they won't get caught when they have cameramen following them everywhere.

Calgary is so much like an iphone: iCalgary - There's a bylaw for that.
Apparently they reshoot a lot of the scenes after the actual chase has occurred...
I like the concept of the show, but the camera thing irritates me too. I would like more details on how that part is handled.
I find it funny when they're closely following behind someone (like across a bridge) and when they cut to the next shot, the shot is from a couple hundred yards away and there's nobody there.

this question pops into my head every time i see this show. i'm thinking it should be renamed cameraman-tracker. it just looks funny when the prey are hiding and the camera man is just in the middle of a field filming them.
i don't know why the group never go separate ways first, then meet up somewhere.
It's a pretty good show but it kinda gets repetitive. I like the amount of confidence that each team has going into the show lol The best episode was when the chick took our her slingshot and started flinging shit at Mantracker lol
They do the hunt, and then the reshoot it for tv.
Mantracker. He has eyes in the back of his head.
Damn... Never gonna look at that show the same way now.Originally posted by Alterac

The best quote was from a guy who got caught
"dammit that man could ask a squirrel where we went and the squirrel would probably tell him"

Nonsense. You've all got slanty eyes, play Starcraft, speak Chinese and eat nothing but sushi and ginger beef.
DON'T TRY AND CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
Could you imagine how pissed off the prey would be with 8 fucking cameramen "stealthly" following them? hahahOriginally posted by crzycroat

that actually makes so much sense....i guess
so do they just redo everything step by step??
These opinions are entirely my own and do not represent any other person or organization.
Hmm, I've seen some pretty crazy things like people floating down the river and getting caught up in the rapids. Hard to beleive they would reshoot something like that.
eemm wait .. some 'prey' act ridiculous .. eg: last night's show the woman started screaming and crying every time man tracker got close .... was that a reshoot? she seemed pretty freaked out by the fact that someone was chasing her ... but for a reshoot i'd say it was horrible acting and she should be shot in the face.
Well they do a bit of both, I was watching a tv thinger with interviewing mantracker and how they film it.
During the chase they film mantracker, and the prey as much as possible (without getting in the road).
Then they do some re-enactments later on.
I will fill people in but I will not say how I know
Camera's film and follow mantracker, each prey is given a hand held that they can use; and there is 5-8 camera stations throughout the course that move around and meet up with you if you so choose or shoot you while you run by.
These stations are always put at places that you have to pass, like mentioned earlier when they see you making for the river they boot it there to film your stupidity.
After it is all over you go back and shoot interviews and "clips" that they use in the show.
They suggest you be as animated as possible to get your chase televised, If you do something brilliant and the Mantracker looks like an ass they leave it out (like wrapping tshirts around your shoes and running on the paths and he goes the wrong way completely).
The major crapshoot is that he knows where the finish line is and in reality all he needs to do is make his way there and sooner or later you will meet.

Your tears fuel me
Were you on it Kavy?
Watched this show for awhile, and always wondered how they filmed it!! Thanks for the info. I always thought the mantracker was just so good he could differentiate between the footprints of the prey vs the camera crew.
They did show that...Originally posted by Kavy

Also there is times when they catch a glimpse of mantracker and hunch down quickly, as does the camera man, suggesting thats during the live hunt?

I thought one of the big things about the show is that mantracker doesnt actually know where the finish line is?
