How is the performance with mkv files ?

Quite good, I'd just make sure you've got a nice fast wireless link if you plan on streaming 10+g files. Over ethernet you're fine.

I have a couple movies I would be interested in testing on it and if it all works I will buy it.

If you are not into that .......I completely understand.

The reason I am asking is because my most recent HTPC I built had studdering and audio sync problems with certain 1080p mkv's (even on a Gigabit connection) using an X2 5600+ AM2, then an X2 6000+..... and I finally resorted to running an AM2+ X4 9750 ....flawlessly finally. Kind of overkill.....lol, but it works.

I just want something that is 'wife friendly' that isn't too much of a step backwards in terms of what files in my library it will play that I can use on the bedroom LCD.
