Ok I'm sure this is pretty simple but I don't want to reef on something and have my house blow up or cause damage. I want to hook up my BBQ but it looks like there is a cap on the line, do I just take a wrench to the cap and loosen it off?

Theoretically you need someone with a gas fitter's ticket to hook it up.
Should you use the blow torch to remove the cap and get blowed up 1500 fet in the air, your insurance won't cover the gathering of the pieces.
grab a fire extinguisher and nomex. You will need it
When you have a thought... let it go.. just let it go and you move ahead of everyone else
Yes, two wrenches, mine was similar to that. I reefed, asked on beyond and then reefed on it again. Then drank a beer and reefed on it again. Then it came off.
If your doing it yourself, make sure for sure for sure you use the proper thread compund, not the plumbers tape or the pink shit sprinkler fitters use, you CANNOT use Teflon tape.
You don't need a gas fitter technically to hook up your BBQ, you need a gas fitter to run the line to the deck, which it is there, any person can install a braided hose to a BBQ
