but i wanted to know if it was gonna be very
difficult to move to cali by myself...
i plan on getting a job as a software developer
but i wanted to know if there is alot of job
opportunity there... and if houses there were
ALOT more expensive than houses in calgary

how the fuck are you planning this if you don't have any information about it?

you're thinking about it, and you're too lazy to research about it, so it won't happen.

You're better off posting this question in a Cali-based software forum, not a Calgary/Alberta based car-forum

Ya PM him and tell him your thinking of moving in 4 yrs to Cali, Fail
A Ferrari is a high maintenance chick, you spend money regardless of what you do with her. You can baby the C63, or slap on all seasons, and you won't be spending anything but yearly maintenance. Of course that's like dating a stripper and refusing to fuck her, which would make you gay.

I know a pile of contracting companies you can work for that will send you all over the USA working at places for months at a time. I did it last year for a while and I figured it'd be easy going down there by myself and that everything would function the same way as here. You don't realize how wrong you are until you get down there and realize how much everyone hates their country, their lives and themselves. Nobody has general consideration for other people so it's way different, try it before you go permanently.

Besides, I wanted to move to Silicon Valley, Texas and Germany in my procession through university, I ended up moving to Calgary instead. Things change as you get new information about the places you want to go.

How would any of these things help him in 4 years. House prices? Especially today? How is that going to be an accurate portrayal?

Man, to work in the states you need to get permission from the government, a working Visa. That's a hard step, look into that and make sure you start now for the requirements as the wait times are retarded for the states.

Second, if you want to straight up leave your life behind, you have to be able to provide for yourself. Look into how much the jobs down there pay vs the cost of living. So things like your cell phone bill, your water and electricity, food, etc.

Third, moving to a new country alone is not easy, make sure you got the balls to do it and stick with it. No point in wasting 2 years of your life and hundreds of thousands just to realize you can't live without your friends or family.

There's way more things, but that should get you started.

California is hurting right now, they are taxed up the @$$ with everything. A coworker just transfered down there with our company. he had his house paid for here and lived comfortably. He now lives in Cali (Irvine area) but is about $1M in debt (he bought decent sized house, has not sold his house here in Calgary yet).

Lots of things to consider. The easiest way to live there would be to transfer down as a student and find work right out of university - if possible.

If you really want to do and are willing to sacrifice for it, you should be able to make it happen. But it will be difficult. Alberta has a very attractive economic status in the real world.

    18.....says it all
You can technically get a ticket for each window that's illegally tinted. So as above, if you're being an ass to the officer (or if he's just an ass to begin with), he can give you two. (or three tickets if you're dumb enough to tint the windshield of your BMW... but if you own a BMW you can't be stupid right?)

If you're serious about it... pm me any questions you may have.

I've made that move already and can answer any questions you might have about immigration, work, etc.

I lived in NorCal so I don't know anything about that area... but Zepher lives in SoCal and I believe a few other members on beyond have been/lived around the LA area, they might be able to answer questions about Diamond Bar specifically.

i heard its pretty tough to get a green card down there, so id look into how to go about getting one of those for citizenship. Or look into what U.S. Work Visas can do for you and how long you can have one.

What did you search? Average housing prices in Diamond Bar and Calgary are easily found. Do you have problems comparing numbers to see which one is higher?

Dice, monster should give you a general idea of the number of software developer positions in Diamond Bar, and also their requirements.

TN and H1B visa requirements will tell you if you'll qualify to get one when you're 22.

Does someone have to hold your hand when you pee?
