all i know they bringing the evo VII to the states 2003 spring, they annoucned that at the LA internation auto show this jan.
i guess they changed their minds and upgraded to the 8th gen...
The Mitsubishi dealer ship is going in right behind Hyatt Infiniti. It dealership will belong to the Hyatt Auto Group. The building won't be ready before the car comes. I was told that they will share the will Infiniti until the building is done.
The car has actually already arrived to a few speciality dealers in the States.... here's one that will sell it to you for $36,500 !
And yes, we're getting two Mitsu dealerships by October. One in the Automall as mentioned (part of Hyatt) and the other up north at 24th Av. NE & 26th St.
As for the EVO, it remains to be seen whether the bumper will pass the feds crash requirements. Apparently ours are more strict than the U.S. ones?? It's not clear if it will be available or not. Regardless, I can't wait to have Mitsu here !!
As soon as they are available, I am trading in the Stealth and getting an EVO. I plan to mod the shit out of it.

wow here in the states especially california we just have strict emission, any car can come as long as it passes the emission test and gets at least a "poor" rating on the insurance safety testing....thats how the mitsubishi montero sport SUV made it to the states....Originally posted by DSM Power

yeah, mitsu dealer will be set up in 2003.
I still plan on getting an STi instead. Mitsubishi reliablility (or lack thereof) scares the hell out of me, especially on a car with that many electronic bells and whistles.
Drag racing is for fast cars. Solo 2 is for fast drivers.
Hrmm..maybe i should get myself an Escort Cosworth to add to the line of rally cars on this list..hehe

The Lancia Delta Intergrale would be nice except they are problem proned cars..unfortunately.
Show me a car from the group B era that wasn't . Most of the group b homologation cars are ticking time bombs, on the ragged edge of streetable tune right from the get go. The nature of taking a car only meant to go 1000km between total tear downs and running them on the street.Originally posted by MrX

Ford's Bringing out a Focus Cosworth that will compete with the EVO and the WRX. It's in the new Road & Track, it's going to have all wheel drive and close to 300hp. Although it may only be made for Europe only
Its been out for two years in Europe already (Focus RS). In street trim, its no where close to 300hp. The euro models are around 250hp from a turboed and intercooled 2.0L. Funny, considering they don't have to homologate WRC spec cars there sure are a lot of dopplegangers running around Not that I'm complainingOriginally posted by 92 Teg-B18A

Actually, its not the same as the RS. It's going to be buitl by Cosworth and will have AWD, ~280bhp and will be out in Europe only by mid 2003. I say 90% odds it will not cross the pond, unless the STi and Evo do very well.Originally posted by 4wheeldrift

Shut up and race!
Keep in mind that is in American dollars, so 50-55 grand in loonies.Originally posted by DSM Power

That's alot when you remember that the NA-spec version will be around 45 thousand.
On the other hand, you keep the electronic differentials and between 15-25 horsepower that was lost.
I also don't think that the JDM version can be imported to Canada because of the bumper.

too bad they used the Ztec engine rather than the older YBT 2.0 lump. I have seen some shots of the older cossie engine in the Focus and it was quite impressive.Originally posted by 4wheeldrift

The original test beds used blue top YBTs, but for whatever reason (probably emissions related) they switched to the Zetec instead.
