2009 Mazda RX8--R3

my cousin is planning to buy a 2009 mazda rx8 r3,,

any thoughts on this car please.. thanks..

I think it is a really nice car
But I don't trust the rx8
If it wasn't for all the horror stories I probably would of owned a rx8.

I owned a 2004 rx8....the funnest car I ever owned...when it worked.........and that wasn't very often.

why, what are the horror stories?? i told to my cousin not to get rx-8, just shop around first..

04's were nightmares, each year seems to be a bit better. Proper maintenance will be your best friend with these vehicles. The R3 comes with some sick Recaro seats and a nice set of 19" wheels

depreciation is terrible, very terrible and so is fuel economy.

if your friend dsnt care about those two factors then he/she will love it, but if it is not a car they want forever it may be a bad purchase.

Encourage your friend to find a slightly used one for way way less, then just upgrade the wheels if so desired.

so my cousin decide not to get rx-8 now he wants me too look a 2 door car, price range up $40,000(financing).. jeez he's giving me a headache..

depends what you mean by performance because you can throw that car into a corner as hard as you want....it just isn't the quickest car.

he didn't test drive it yet.. he made his decision not to get it because of this thread and i dont want him to get that car too.. $40,000 he can find a way way better car than rx-8..
