Default Weird / Unknown Noise in Ranchlands

Does anyone on here live in Ranchlands know what this is all about?

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/sto...lands-hum.html

Apparently researchers from the U of C are going to try and pin point what is causing the noise, but it says it will take 2-3 years?! WTF.

    aliens aha
You can technically get a ticket for each window that's illegally tinted. So as above, if you're being an ass to the officer (or if he's just an ass to begin with), he can give you two. (or three tickets if you're dumb enough to tint the windshield of your BMW... but if you own a BMW you can't be stupid right?)

I've ruled out a tunnel boring machine from the other side of the world (unless they started in the Indian Ocean) so I agree, must be alien coverup.

wow, looks like she has a lot to do. i seriously wonder how people that dumb can even get jobs.
She is actually a friend of mine and is extremely intelligent.

'Acoustic Ecology' is just the name given to part of what she does, and it happens to be the subject of a book she is writing right now. It is a valid area of study that covers a wide variety of topics including the design of warning sounds, emergency vehicle sirens, and even the active noise reduction systems found in high end music headsets and aviation headsets, as well as how the soundscapes of our environment shape our behaviours.

Just because you aren't capable of understanding something doesn't make it stupid; rather the reverse, actually.

    Guess #1

Military noise accoustic weapon being developed at Computing Devices Canada (just north of Deerfoot Mall)

    Guess #2

Sympathetic vibration of having several of the same model furnace fan motors all running in the same neighborhood.

I could have sworn I heard and more often felt the same freaking annoying thing in Sandstone many years ago.

and Ranchlands is a good 10+ km away from General Dynamics... and I doubt they're doing any weapons research there... next to the airport...
