Out with Dave and some girls who wanted some pictures done with them in their Advent Children FF7 costumes.

I find the dress being so dark is distracting. Not to mention women spend a TON of time and money on finding the PERFECT dress, so having it shadowed out in photos might take away from the effect in the eyes of a lot of brides.Originally posted by ThE tV 8 mE

The poses are pretty though, just the little lighting issue for me.
Possible for you to hook me up with a 1680x1050 of the first picture? PM if you can, thanksOriginally posted by soupey
Pretty spontaneous shoot today.
Local DJ Whitney Eleven Knight.
She had an awesome collection of stuff around her loft that we used to build the scene for this shot.
This first shot took a lot of experimenting to get the look right.
I've never had a chance to use any lighting set up besides my SB-600 so this was a pretty big challenge.
Bowens Gemini in large soft box on camera left. Bowens Gemini in snoot behind the devider angled down for some accent light on her chair and hair.
I wish we would have had one more light, to possibly add some fill on the right side..but my friend only had two lights.
and one of my buddy jeff.

Thanks! I have no idea why the hell I am still up.
i used a 580exii set at 1/128 power, pointed at ceiling. (was not meant to expose anything), this triggered a morris mini slave flash on the side set to its "high" setting (simple thick paper GOBO used to block light from appearing on the backdrop), it was positioned off camera bottom left behind the incense stick. light was pointed up and towards the camera.Originally posted by HiSpec
how did you get the smoke to "lit" up?
then switched the camera to M, max shutter sync with the morris slave flash was at 1/160th, room darkened, television screen used as a backdrop, and an F number that allowed for a decent exposure, and was high enough to allow for a lil fudge factor when it came to focusing.
definitely need a new tele lens, initially tried to do this with my tamron 70-300mm lens had big IQ problems on my 5D over the 50mm prime i later used. sigh, the price of moving up to full frame .

It looks so vintage. I like it!Originally posted by The_Rural_Juror
Film or PS?
Also, is it possible for people to not quote images? It gets distracting to see the same set of images twice.
Or is that just me?
Your guy's photos look insane. Any tips to help me improve would be appreciated.
