So I started on a diet again, and for breakfast I eat 6 egg whites with some toast.. Can eating 6 Egg whites be bad for you? That's a lot of eggs to eat just for breakfast.
Anyone else eat this many or more?

Most of the nutrients in the egg come from the yolk, if you are going to eat eggs you are better off eating the entire egg even with the added fat from the yolk.
This has been discussed before.

It is a myth that egg yolks are bad for you.

hehe
Go with 3 whole 3 whites, skip the toast and add some veggies or even fruit for your carbs.

"Nutrients" is the wrong term here...if you're gonna eat six egg whites, you'll need to eat one egg yolk to allow your body to absorb the protien.Originally posted by sputnik

An egg has almost ZERO carbs. Why do you think all of the Atkins followers eat them?

Eggs have trace carbs. Egg whites are one of fastest absorbed and highest bioavailable (More of it is used for muscle building/repair) protein you can ingest.
I've eaten up to 12 whole eggs/day, my cholesterol went down. Hilarious eh?
It's not uncommon for me to drink an entire 500ml egg white carton for a meal. 10 whites in that.
Egg's aren't bad..

id say 2 yolks 4 whites or 3 yolk and 3 whites.
Pure egg whites is just fine as long as they are cooked. Raw egg whites have enzymes that inhibit protein digestion and bind to biotin (Important in maintaining blood sugar).
If your worried about cholesterol. the cholesterol in egg yolks is dietary. Meaning it will have a much lower impact on your blood cholesterol but depends greatly on the person and their dietary history. So you can afford to eat eggs more often than food with non-dietary cholesterol.
Its also good to know that majority of the nutrients are in the yolks.

I eat roughly 15-20 egg whites a day when im training hard, I say roughly because it comes out of a huge container.
When bulking 3 whole eggs, 10 egg whites for breakfast with a shake is about normal.
I wouldn't worry about that, we're talking in excess of like 25 egg whites every single day for it to bind enough to become Biotin deficient.Originally posted by Ebon

Lots of old school bodybuilders/athletes, shit even current ate/eat raw foods with no issues.
Also it's just the amino Adivin<sp> which binds. So yeah - no worries
It's not like the BCAA's bind to it. As far as I know Adivin is not needed to stimulate protein synthesis.
