Fort Mcmurray Suncor camps

Has anyone lived in Suncor camps in Fort Mac before?
They are taking away LOA. Wonder which camp(s) are good/bad. Is the food decent? Gym available?

Do some of the camps have private bathrooms that one do not have to share ? What else is there to do?

Oh, I am talking Suncor Oilsands, main site.

I have seen the signs but haven't seen the camps. Blackstone someone I talked to mentioned.

What's in a room? Bed and a desk? Shared bathroom?

Each camp is a bit different. Better find out which one before anyone can answer your questions. There's Millennium, Borealis, Blacksands, or Noralta. The latter two are for executives and supervisors. Try to stay out of Millennium if you can.

Yeah I will try to insist on Black Sand. The website looks good. Noralta looks decent as well. I just want to be with more civilized people :-)

I can ask my dad as he works up in Fort Mac. Has an apartment now but he used to be living in one of the camps.

There is usually a bed and a locker, sometimes a desk, if you are sharing the room then there are two of everything. Most bathrooms are shared and are probably dorm style (big row of toilets, big row of showers etc..) there is a huge cafeteria/kitchen and you can get food most whenever you want and there are always snacks available. There are places to hook into internet, play pool, watch tv or movies etc...like a lounge of sorts and yes the big camps like in Fort Mac often have a camp. lNo alcohol though or you will be kicked out and fired.
