Remove that one light in the bottom left and crop more of the bottom off and it would be superb.

I'm no photography expert, but if you're going to do what BlackArcher says, maybe fix the half-burnt-out P in "Pengrowth" while you're at it. That was one of the first things I noticed about the shot.

You need to use longer exposures in order to get those city lights to pop more. The lights from the buildings should pop a lot more that way. Kinda like this. This is a 30 second exposure taken at F8 and ISO 100.

The problem with that is you end up blowing out all of the other better lit sections. For example the tent in the foreground would be a big glowing blob of white and you wouldn't be able to read "Pengrowth Saddledome" either.

Unless 89coupe does some HDR "photo painting" stuff and makes everything look unrealistic, that is the best representation of the scene.

Just requires taking photos using spot measurements at a certain AF point. In this case the camera is taking the measurement from the area around the saddledome which is lit up extremely nice. It still looks nice, but the lights don't pop.

Quazi, honestly, the photo you posted looks over exposed. The idea IMO is to present a realistic view with a bit of added pop.

Here is my pano of the same shot you did side by side, judge for yourself.

I would say yours is underexposed as you can't see the edges of many of the buildings. This is a cropped shot at around 75% magnification of the original image. I haven't done any photoshop at all to the image. Chances the camera would greatly over exposre a photo in AV mode are highly unlikely.

This is a first for me, but I'm going to side with 89coupe here. I like the darker look of his less-exposed pic.

And just for fun. All I did was adjust the highlights. I would say this looks better though but it is a couple F stops more overexposed. Granted maybe things look different when your editing photos on a calibrated apple cinema display for all i know...

I agree, 89coupe's is a better representation of what you would actually see, while quazi's looks rather washed-out.
