Default No more Chrysler... Just Fiat, Jeep and Dodge?

Could this be a brilliant move? Jeep for SUVs, Dodge for Trucks (as these 2 brands are still respected) and Fiat for everything else...? (read Page 2)

The deal gives Fiat, which manufactures Fiat-, Alfa Romeo-, and Lancia-branded vehicles in Europe, 20% of the equity in Chrysler in exchange for sharing billions of dollars worth of technology and engineering assets with the U.S. automaker.
billions of dollars worth of technology from benz?

hopefully things'll work out for them, be nice to see some new italian cars on the road here, i've come to hate dodge after this weekend actually doing both outer tie rods on the gfs dad's magnum on saturday, 60k kms and its gone through 3 sets of balljoints, first 4 were on warranty, the LH side on fell out of the socket completely and the RH was loose and dry as a bone, only had 20k kms on them since the last warrantied one! . the new ones have zerk fittings on them.. aftermarket knows better than OEM lol

Where the hell is Dodge Challenger gonna fit then? Are they going to call it a Fiat Challenger?

They already planned to build a Fiat 169 on 300 platform:

IMO, leave Dodge as low end. Set up Fiat as upper end and sell most models as Dodge (even the 500)

I really hope the first car on the chopping block (literally) is the Sebring. I wonder when we'll see the Fiat 500!

I would also hope the pensioner Sebring is axxed right away! Fiat 500 would be awesome over here.

i honestly hope that they dont eliminate chrysler... its sad to see the decline of american cars, however it seems from the article that this is not set in stone yet, so well need to wait and see what happens.

It's this kind of mentality that will keep NA automakers in a big hole. People need to wake up to reality and force drastic changes. Pontiac was such a big name, yet that has been axed. I think this is a step in the right direction. It's a shame that Chrysler did this to themselves.

It's been a long time since we've seen a well known car company go under but it used to happen all the time in the 60s,70s and 80s, it's just something thats new to our generation.

DIE CHRYSLER! I hope they axe the 300, Sebring and the rest of the garbage, and bring in actual European cars here. I would love to see Alpha Breras, Fiat 500 Arbath, or even the Competizione!
