Just curious to hear your rationale as its opposite to everything I've read.
if you are talking about the current RS4, its also 12k USD more than an M3 (base MSRP vs base MSRP). I'll keep the 12k and you can have the awd and slower car thank you.

I really hope the new RS4 would drop in price to really compete with the M3/C63. Because you have got to be an idiot or a huge Audi fanboy to pick up a B7 RS4 over the M or AMG...

Haven't heard anyone rant about Glenmore Audi so I suppose they are good to deal with? haha
If you guys think BMWs are unreliable you're in for a surprise buying a new Audi

    450hp? Source?

starting to sound like fanboy. How do you know the new RS4 will give the M3 a run for the money?

Don't get me wrong, I would probably get one if it had 450+ hp and cost the same as an M3 / C63. Have there even been any test mule sightings?

From what Ive read there wont be a B8 RS4... only an RS5.

Although the RS4 and M3 are in the same category.. why so you think the companies stagger their release dates?
With each release, the companies basically take their turn upping one another.. making it very tough to ever have a fair comparison. Each time you have the two of them together, one of the cars is always a 2-3 year old model. (Although... adding in my 2 cents, the B5 RS4 tromped the E46 M3.. and it was the previous model!)

    E36 M3--B5 RS4--E46 M3--B7 RS4--E90 M3--???

    450hp RS5
r-audi is correct, here we will not be getting the rs4 but it will be in avant form in europe.

    RS4/RS5 info

Oh I am not a fan boy,I would have an M3 far before I would get an rs4. The current RS4 is an excellent car and with all of the testing between the rs4 and m3, they have always been extremely close.

Not really. The RS4 overall is a much nicer package (especially in the looks inside and out) than the M3. $12K is alot of money but if you can afford cars in that price range you can afford to get the car you want.

I have driven both and I think the RS4 is worth every penny, ESPECIALLY in Calgary. Audi's feel right at home in the snow, awd V8? Yes please.

If I was in LA I may opt for the M3 but even then, the Audi is much tighter, and overall better feeling car. All subjective I know, but the speed both of these cars are capable of is so close to each other, I would judge a car by just it's 0-60. The RS4 just felt like an upgrade over the M3.

    Here we will get a B8 RS5
In europe along with the B8 RS5 there will be B8 RS4 Avants, no sedans.

The m3 leaves you with gas in the tank and about 20 grand in the wallet

Right, cause magazine never print something wrong. That is why magazines never have retractions put out.

A loaded M3 cab is $97,700 before tax and everything according to the BMW website, and I don't think anyone looking at these cars care in the least about fuel economy. The price difference is much less significant at this price point unless you bought a base M3. I do agree the RS4 could stand to be about 10K cheaper though. The only thing you gain is a car that is ever so slightly faster on the track, in every other respect the nod goes to the RS4 (AWD, interior/build, etc.). They are 2 fairly different cars.
