The no charge for bbm is false unless you were running data through wifi. Charges would be minimal for just bbm but there are data roaming charges regardless

Anyone know if you can get Pay as you Go in the US that comes with data?
I just need it for a week.Really? That's odd, everywhere I've gone so far, I've got data on my pay as you go, even daily unlimited packs for like $2. But I haven't been to the US yet...Originally posted by 03ozwhip

Telus has free texting to and from the States. If you have unlim text, and dont have a blackberry you can MMS voice clips, pictures and videos back home. If you are lazy to upload any pics you can MMS facebook too. Man I miss being able to MMS. I really wish telus could fix that. Those rogers smart phones can mms!
No problem man, it's better to go to Howardforums for cell phone advice. Instead of beyondOriginally posted by ZMan2k2

(.10/page + data roaming(dont quote me on that, ive never used one in the states so they could be more or less but thats a standard rate vs BB at $8/mb data roaming) but its harder to use and the pages dont display the same.
AT&T has pre-paid data, although it's not BIS for Blackberrys. It's $20 for 100MB.Originally posted by benyl

It's listed on the bottom left under available features.
When I went to Vegas last month with my Blackberry, I used 1212KB of data over 4 days. That was just using BB Messenger. It was an extra $7.37 on my Rogers bill. I also brought my dad's unlocked phone which had a T-Mobile pre-paid SIM to call home.

I have an iPhone, no BB here. I think I will try the ATT thing.

The first summer I spent living in LA I used my phone and came home to a $3000 cell phone bill as it turned out they were charging $1 a minute.
The next year I went back, I spent a $100 on a pay as you go phone and it was all good. Plus, I keep the phone and whenever I travel to the US I bring that a long, spend $20 on a new SIM card and I'm good to go.

Yeah, I have two of those phones already, but only because you couldn't unlock the 3G iPhone. Now that you can, I don't need those crappy phones... haha
