its not a pile of shit at all the dude says he wouldn't pass it because it has LED turn signals on the rear & flush mount signals on the front he also said it has a "small leak" in one fork seal..I inspected the fork seals before I took it in & they were fine

    Its a 2003 CBR600RR

flush mounts are illegal as they dont maintain the correct spacing between the two signals.

Even if they are DOT approved? I don't understand...they said they "could" pass the front ones but not the rears

they need to be a certain distance apart to be able to allow drivers from the rear to differentiate which way you want to go. Also they may not put out enough lights.

If he wont pass them it is probably for a reason, it doesnt really matter what I think.

My suggestion is to change them back and try again. I personally got better looking signals on my bike instead of flush mounts. That and the hidden plate seems to be NORMAL now.

The under tail I have now will NOT allow me to change back to stock, that's why im looking for someone that isn't a stickler I know its a stab in the dark but I gotta keep asking...would you happen to know what the distance between lights is?

Do a search, I've covered this many many times on here...I don't wanna type it all out again lol

FYI Bike inspections are way more strict that cars, you can't just 'sign one off'...you have to be a fully licensed inspection station and being lenient can cost you your mechanics license. Inconveniences to you are not the mechanics concern, following his booklet to the letter is. I used to do inspections for a living and when I had to get my bike inspected earlier this year, I still had to pay a shop to do it---and I failed, for a completely BS reason, but I had to fix the issue.

LED's are illegal, period. Any oil leak, fork seal included is a fail...even a minor one.

Did you not read the post above yours? It has to be a licensed shop or it's no good. The sheet that needs to be filled out are all numbered and distributed by the government, it's not like a safety on a car that any mech. can sign off on.

^Not to mention the $10,000 fine that goes with fraudulently submitting a falsified inspection and the loss of license that goes with it. A shop I used to sell to was nailed because of this sort of thing and the owner lost his business and the techs their licenses. The government takes this very seriously.

I did my OOP at a shop in the NE, I knew the car needed some work, he didn't catch most of it. I didn't pay him off or anything. A month later I went back there and they weren't allowed to do inspections anymore
