maybe he swapped the engine?
i just sold it to him a few days ago and the engine pictured in the pics is the h22 that was in there when I bought it. Besides, swaping the engine doesn't erase the KM's that are on the body.

true. call him out on it ... see what he says and post!
Try and contact Auto Trader and let them know.
call AMVIC,i had a similar situation where i sold a truck and the guy turned back the odometer,i noticed his ad on kijiji but did nothing about it (figured he would get his due someday)I had a AMVIC officer vist me one day asking questions about the sale (i was the last reported owner) buddy used a fake name and took cash from the buyer,it is a major offence, AMVIC guy was very serious about finding this guy.
amvic his ass. tell them you have seem 5 cars in the last month posted with the same number and tell them about the fraud, he will get fined at least
what a crook.
how much did u sell it to him?
Was it someone on Beyond? $6500 was asking price.

no it was no one from this site as far as I know. the buyer contacted me through kijiji. I phoned him and asked him about the car as if i was intrested in buying it. I firsted asked him how many Km's were on it and then he hung right up. I phoned back but no answer. He was like 40 years old and didn't seem like a crook to me? Weird.

post his name from the Bill of Sale?
Saw a car that could be easily sold to a 17 year high schol student, and rolled it back.
douchenozzle.
I'm not sure what to do, but whatever it is, do it!
I've missed these threads for awhile.
Im not sure what you mean by that. ^
I really don't care because I sold the car, got what I wanted and it's done. I just feel bad for the kid who buys it thinking there is only 100xxx k's on it, that's all. I don't know what his name is. I filled out my part of the bill of sale and sent him on his way. He said his name was mike when we spoke on the phone before he came to take a look at it. Real name? donno. Don't really care.
I will probably do nothing. I did a carfax on the vin and the last time the km's were reported was in 1998 with 63xxx on it.

a 40 year old buying a car like that? you knew something had to be up!
Id call the Police and notify auto trader as well!
The auto trader add says 108,000 kms. I see you had 80,000 on the rebuilt engine, is it possible he had a typo when submitting the add? So that 80,000 becomes 108,000? He should of mentioned that the body has more km's but I would think most people will think a 96 Honda with only 108,000 kms on the body would be rare/strange and question it.

I did think it was strange, but I had the car for sale for a long time and just wanted it out of my garage and off my hands, so if he had the money I would sell it to him regardless of his age. 10, 100, whatever.Originally posted by adidas
