How to transfer file from one computer to another via remote connection?

Probably kind of a stupid question but I don't know how to do this. I have a remote connection from my pc to my Mom's pc, allowing me access to her computer. I want to transfer a file from my computer to her computer. The file is the install file for Quicken tax program. Whats the easiest way to transfer it?

you should be able to drag and drop using windows remote desktop.

I tried the drag and drop. When I drag it to the bottom tab where my open remote connection is, the file disappears and isn't visible on my Mom's computer. My cursor turns from the file into the circle with the line through (like the non smoking symbol, lol). I also trying doing a right click copy on my computer, and then going to my Mom's to paste, but the paste button isn't highlighted.

what version of windows do you have?
also try turn off the full screen and drag from window to window instead, maybe that'll work.

ok, i just tried it on my system, and drag and drop doesn't work, but copy and paste work. (running on windows 7)

I'm using Window XP on both computers. I tried minimizing both screens so they are both visible at the same time. When I drag the file the cursor changes into the no go sign as soon it scrolls onto the window of my Mom's computer.

edit. Copy and paste is still a no go with the windows minimized and both visible. I do the copy but then the paste isn't highlighted to paste to my Mom's computer.

I dont think you have the latest RDC, try running windows update.

Ok I finally got it working. Thanks for the link Punky. The fix in the article didn't work, however I found the solution about halfway down in the comments. This is what worked:

Bring up the remote desktop connection window (where you input password to log in). Select the options tab. Then select the local resources tab. Then under local devices and resources, tick the drives box.
