Holy, some of these movies are my all time favorites!
300, Snatch, Lock Stock, Fight Club, 12 monkeys are all in my top 20 movies.
Same with Saving Private Ryan - Cannot wait for this to come to blu-ray!
I'd say Transformers 2, too much bark, not enough bite...

Fuck, especially football ones, those are the worst, they all have essentially the same plot line.
HOWEVER
I did enjoy the Mighty Ducks series...even though each movie was the same story repeated.
You don't remember the movie Remember the Titans? It is an amazing sports movie.
There are many great sports movies... Remember the Titans, Rudy, The Natural, The Rookie just to name a few
Moonraker was pretty bad too, but now you can watch it with a few buddies and laugh at its ridiculousness. Die Another Day is just tragic.Originally posted by flipstah

Watchmen is definitely overrated.

get an lcd for anywhere, with the 120/240hz it's superior in all ways.
I thought it was excellent. Plenty of character developement, solid plot, and over all good movie.Originally posted by copynpaste
Watchmen is definitely overrated.
It's alot better than some of the comic/superhero adaptations that sparked so much meda hype in the past.
(spider-man, Superman, Dark Knight...also Hulk and Dare Devil were shit)

I didn't like The Dark Knight because of Bale's Batman voice. If it wasn't for Heath's part, I would've walked out.
Watchmen was really well done.
Well it was an attempt at realism. If Batman is going to keep his identity a secret it's probably a good idea that he doesn't have Bruce Wayne's voice.Originally posted by JMaj7

If a pair of glasses is enough for Clark Kent, Batman doesn't need to do a very bad Clint Eastwood impression.Originally posted by heavyD

I'm with the masses on the Godfather and pulp fiction. Those two are definitely on my favorite movies list.
I agree with Tomaz on Will ferrell movies. All his recent movies have been mediocre at best. Semi-pro was pretty bad, same with talladega nights. They both had their moments, but overall disappointing. Used to be a big fan of Will Ferrell, but his recent movies are just horrible. What's that new movie he's in called? The one where he goes back in time and there's a dinosaur in the previews? I'm not even going to bother watching that.
Well Superman movies pretty well set the lowpoint for all superhero movies so maybe you are on to something.Originally posted by 95teetee

Now that you say that, I can't complain. Plus I can't think of an alternative. South Park kinda killed it for me.Originally posted by heavyD

I think you gotta break it down:
-Overrated but still good:
Hangover (very funny but it just got way too much hype)
Transformers (not the worst comic-based movie but it's not worthy of its legendary status).
-Overrated and actually not as smart as people make it out to be: Fight Club, Big Lebowski
-Over popular garbage: Twilight, Harry Potter
I respect people have different opinions, but I mean some movies are just extremely well done; even if they aren't your cup of tea, you have to appreciate how good they are. (i.e. Godfather, TDK, possibly Star Wars series... etc)
* Disclaimer: this post is entirely "IMHO".
Deer Hunter - Academy award in like 76?. The movie was way too long, I think it was for character developement but that move was shit.
Raging Bull -
I don't hate on Deniro movies, I love Casino, Taxi driver, Goodfellas!
BTW
Some people in this thread do not understand what it means to be "Overrated".
You can't drop names like "Speed" or "steven segal flicks" etc when they are just plain shit from the beginning.
It's Land of the Lost. It had some moments, but that's like every other movie he's released in the last few years.Originally posted by jsn
