I believe your tires must be brand new (never on the road) and pertains to certain makes/model tires only.

Only person I know of that has studded tires is 4wheeldrift.

Tire Craft does it for 18 a tire, but tires have to be new

must be new tires, but cdn tire does it as well. im not sure if its only for thier studdable tires or for anyones... but probably anyones

Nope, studs are legal anywhere in alberta. As was said, the tires can't have been used AT ALL before they are studded, any dirt or snow or anything gets in the pockets and bungs up the threads making it impossible to get the studs in after they have been roaded. I had mine done at the kal-tire on 42nd, the cost was $7 per tire (but that was with a purchase of tires, it might be more if you just bring them in).
