    Default wasp nest

Just found a wasp nest under my deck this morning. Going to wait until tonight and just bag it. My concern is that more wasps will come back and build another nest. Anyone with experience with wasps? Do I need to find a way to kill them, but leave the nest intact so it works like a "wasp scarecrow"?

Canadian Tire has "fake" nests that you can put up to keep them from returning.

If the nest is easily accessible, and you don't want to remove it, go to Poulin's Pest Control, pick up some pyrodust, wait until the evening when it's cooler and the wasps are less active, spread the power on the nest, or where ever the wasps tread. They'll carry it into the nest. Reapply a few times and it'll kill them. We had a wasp nest under some deck stairs and no direct access. Took a week or so, a few applications but took care of the problem.

You can just use a paper bag as it looks close enough to a nest. Works fine.

I once duct taped a butane camping stove to a canoe paddle. There is much cooler / manly ways you can get rid of them haha

Spray whatever you have laying around in it. Paint, brake cleaner.. etc... Give it a shot and run.

I discovered a wasp nest under my front porch the other day in the worst way possible while repainting the railing... and got stung twice as a result.

My pressure washer on full blast made quick work of those little pricks... completely obliterated... 100%.

Final score: Wasps 2, Me +25... I am sure there were more carcasses around somewhere...

Once you remove it, you can hang fake nests up and they won't come around at all.

I heard once someone hung up a fake nest, and the wasps came back and built a real nest inside the fake one.

better question..are they wasps or hornets. alot of wasps dont give a rats ass and will build a nest anywhere. best bet is killing them in the nest and leaving it there. powder is great cuz any new wasps will more than likely pick it up and die as well so the nest cant be taken over.
